With its origins in the middle of the 20th century (1941), ROTH SA originally specialised in the manufacture and marketing of steel bottles for the production of fire extinguishers. In 1972, the company became part of the Olaer group, a pressure shell manufacturer and subsidiary of the American company Parker Hannifin. In 1975, the Mions site (Rhône, France) was created, with the aim of concentrating on the manufacture of high-pressure accumulator bodies. In 2004, the three sites at the time (Paris, Lille, Mions, of which only the latter remains today) were taken over by Secko (USA). Then, in 2014, the site was bought by Pamaso Capital, the personal holding company of Mr. Patrice Blandin, before being taken over in 2020 by its current managers after the difficulties resulting from the Covid-19 crisis and weaker orders from the Parker Hannifin group. The latter nevertheless remains ROTH2’s main customer to date, even if its share will be diluted with the rise of the new activities (see the “Profit Mechanisms” section).
As a reminder, ROTH MIONS was placed in receivership on 22 September 2020. Following the observation period, the Commercial Court of Vienne adopted a continuation plan on 2 March 2021 in order to pronounce the end of the receivership and the state of cessation of payments. In its judgment of 21 June 2022, the Vienne Commercial Court noted the end of the receivership plan following the early repayment of all the plan’s creditors.
